During the visit, the delegation held working meetings with the ERS discussion of the possible ways of cooperation with a number of leading scientific and educational institutions in the country: the Ioffe Physical Technical Institute RAS, SPSU,  Foundation for Basic Research, National Research University "Higher School of Economics", Independent University of Moscow, the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University. At the end of this part of the visit (then continued in Novosibirsk), a briefing for journalists was held in Moscow Agcy of the EC.
During the discussion, Professor S.S. Zilitinkevich spoke about his work at the Laboratory as a successful example of cooperation between European scientists with their Russian colleagues on the promising area of ??research, which has already attracted a lot of interest in the global community. In parallel with his work in UNN with  the Russian program of "megagrants" Professor S.S. Zilitinkevich manages a number of other major European projects in the field of atmospheric sciences. In 2008, he received the ERC Advanced Grant for the execution of the project "Atmospheric planetary boundary layers: physics, modeling, and their role in the Earth system" with a budget of 2.4 million euros over five years.
Answering to a reporter of the newspaper "Search" to the question about how he manages to combine the work on the implementation of such large projects that require the full commitment and a lot of the time, including scientific reports, Professor S.S. Zilitinkevich said: "Yes, I have to structure hard my time, but so what? ERC Grant and the Government of the Russian megagrant effectively complement each other, which gives me, as a researcher, a huge opportunity! Also, I was saved by Russian colleagues who have taken over much of the megagrant reporting documentation. "
